Manager (Reinforcing)

This is an important leadership role within the business, responsible for managing the day-to-day performance of the division across people, production, detailing, materials, quality, customer coordination, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will suit someone who can lead from the front, stay close to the workflow, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The Job

  • Lead and manage the Reinforcing Division to achieve safe, efficient, and profitable outcomes

  • Oversee day-to-day production planning, workflow coordination, and delivery performance

  • Support and develop staff, providing clear direction, accountability, and leadership

  • Undertake or oversee detailing work, depending on workflow and business requirements

  • Lead take-offs and support pricing activity through accurate quantity and project information

  • Coordinate reinforcing orders, stock control, and materials availability for production

  • Monitor quality, reduce rework, and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards

  • Support customer communication regarding programmes, timing, and delivery expectations

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and process discipline

  • Champion health and safety and ensure safe work practices are consistently followed

 

Your Skills:

  • Experience managing teams in a construction, manufacturing, or production environment

  • Experienced with reinforcing, precast, structural steel, or a related industry

  • Strong production planning and coordination capability

  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings

  • Confidence with detailing, take-offs, and pricing support

  • Sound commercial awareness, including budgeting, cost control, and supplier coordination

  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills

  • A focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement

  • Good computer skills, including confidence using Excel and operational systems

  • An Engineering or Construction Tertiary qualification would be preferential, but not essential

  • Likewise, forklift or crane tickets would be an advantage
