The role:

This NZ owned company has been involved in manufacture of aluminium castings for the past 30 years and has build a reputation for quality and professionalism within the industry. With a strengthening market and a strong future workload, they are currently looking for an experienced Engineer to join their team in the Engineering Manager role.

The role:

  • Preparation of accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects based on project specifications and drawings.

  • Analysing tender documents to determine the scope, materials, labour, and equipment requirements

  • Collaborate with company owners, project managers, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements

  • Identify risks and ultimately submit bids that demonstrate value for all parties

  • Keep current with industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure cost estimates are accurate and competitive.

  • Preparing non-price attributes to support tender submissions. Participate in negotiations with clients and subcontractors. The successful candidate should:

You will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or construction-related qualification

  • Be Proficient in Estimating Software

  • Understand construction methods, materials, and costs

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Understand NZ construction contracts

  • Have the ability to identify and manage risks
